Children return to school, have fun at home
After more than 83 weeks of schools being closed in Uganda because of the pandemic, the children of Kingdom Home were eager to return to school in 2022!
The new homes are situated near the local primary school, while the secondary school is a few kilometers down the road. The younger children can easily walk to school, while we are providing transportation for the older children. Kingdom Home plans to raise additional funds to purchase a bus for the children so we can safely get the children to-and-from school.
In addition to returning to school, our Country Director, Kimberly, and her family recently visited our homes, bringing activities that were purchased over the holidays by our generous community for the children.
They received everything from soccer balls to playing cards, board games and brain teasers. Chess was a favorite amongst the children by far, and Jenga was perfect for the younger kids. Kimberly's children helped explain how to play some of the other card games such as Uno that they weren't as familiar with.
Kingdom Home is continually blessed by the support and generosity for our children. The difference that has been made in each child's life is immeasurable. These activities will not only bring them joy, but challenge the children's minds, and keep them sharp as they get back into the swing of attending school.
