Vacation Bible School at Kingdom Home

For the first time ever, Kingdom Home was able to put on a Vacation Bible School for all of the children! Every May, the schools in Uganda have one week off for break. This May our team, led by Pastor Joseph, hosted a three-day long VBS for all 93 of the children at Kingdom Home. Pastor Joseph was able to send a report of how it went. Check out what he had to say below!

“Each day would start with prayer, worship, and a Bible teaching. Then we would get a snack and transition into games until lunch. After lunch we would get together for a quiz competition, and after the quiz we would go on to have more games until the end of the day.

On the second day, we had a bonfire which started with a projection of some of the camp photos, followed by worship and a Bible teaching with time for personal reflection around the fire. The third day included a Q&A session for the children to ask their questions after the Bible teaching. The teachings were on Genesis 1-3 and Romans 5:12-21. The theme throughout the week was, “Going Back to the Beginning.”

It was great to have the Q&A session on the last day. It demonstrated that the children were engaging with all that they were learning from the Bible. At the end of the VBS they were asking when we plan to have the next one. When they ask for more, that is a sign that they have really enjoyed something. In the future, we hope to make this an evangelistic program for other children in our community. Many children were seen climbing trees trying to get a glimpse of all the fun that was taking place on our property!

We had a few volunteers from the area that helped our team lead all the activities throughout the week. We are so blessed and thankful to be able to give the children these experiences.

Kindest regards,

Pastor Joseph”

We are so thankful for everyone that supports our organization and makes moments like these possible. We believe the seeds planted throughout these three days will impact the children beyond what we can think or imagine. It is with your help and support that we are able to go above and beyond and give these children a childhood they deserve. Thank you!
