OUR PROGRAMS
Why Prevention Matters
7,000–18,000 children are victims of sex trafficking in Uganda, with a lifetime sex trafficking prevalence as high as 11.9% in some Ugandan districts. Research shows that the sex trade is a true threat to the children of Uganda, and our goal is to end this cycle through prevention. Prevention is 98% effective at keeping children from ever entering the sex trade.
Our homes not only help restore our children, but also protects them. By providing a safe home and resources, we can dramatically reduce the likelihood that they would ever enter or re-enter the sex trade or exploitative labor. It is our hope and goal to see them become influencers within their community in order to end the cycle of abuse in Uganda.
Ending the Cycle of Abuse
THE PROBLEM
In countries around the world today it has become culturally acceptable for families to sell their children when ends don’t meet. It is estimated that 1.2 million children are being trafficked for sex each year.

OUR SOLUTION
To date, Prevention has become the most effective way to end child sex slavery because it diminishes the supply of global child trafficking, making it more and more difficult for sex brokers to find children to sell. A prevention approach provides an opportunity to help at-risk children before they reach a critical level of risk or danger.
IN UGANDA
Uganda has the second youngest population in the world. More than 78% of its citizens are below the age of 35, and this youthful population is projected to double in the next 25 years. This statistic poses Uganda as a target for the child sex trade.

Access to Education
When families in Uganda can’t make ends meet, children are often kept from attending school because their families simply can’t afford it. In worse cases, children are sent to work, or unknowingly sold into a exploitative situation with the false promise of earning a wage. But at Kingdom Home, children who were once marginalized will thrive with access to education, becoming fully equipped to live abundant and meaningful lives because they know their worth, and have the skills and resources to live out their dreams.
Our children have dreams of becoming engineers, teachers, and doctors. Here from Peace, on what she loves most about going to school: “When winter season starts, the children in Uganda continue learning. I am excited to meet my teachers, and make good friends. When I am at school, my favorite part is the library."
Each child at Kingdom Home safely attends school within the community. The children receive school uniforms, books, and the supplies they need. Unlike public schools within the United States, every child is required to pay school fees in order to attend primary and secondary school.
Unforeseen Medical Needs
At Kingdom Home we provide our children with meaningful holistic care, while being raised up with love and guidance from our house parents and staff. This means we are are focused on caring for the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of each child. As our children grow, they will receive routine health and wellness care, as well as necessary medical procedures in order for them to thrive.
We provide our children with the vital care they deserve, just like Herbert, who recently underwent a successful tonsillectomy.

Hopeful Harvest
We strive for a safe and sustainable future for our children and homes. We can do this through cultivating unused land on our property to grow crops and raise chickens. We provide the resources for seeds, labor, and upkeep of our farmed land. Not only will this teach the children a useful life skill, it will continue to keep their bellies full.
SPONSOR A CHILD IN OUR CARE
Our child sponsorship program plays a vital role in accomplishing the goal of ending child sex slavery in Uganda through prevention. Because of our sponsors, when children come into the safety of Kingdom Home from their at-risk situation, we are able to provide for their holistic needs.
